Dementia & sight loss

Did you know that there are 850,000 people living with Dementia in the UK and 7 out of 10 of these are also living with another medical condition or disability such as sight loss? At BWBF, we have for a long time been aware that people with medical conditions other than sight loss such as Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease and stroke sufferers are also finding the benefits of using our adapted radios because of their simplicity to operate.

In June, BWBF and BWBF Direct spent two days at The Alzheimer’s Show at Olympia in London talking to visitors about our adapted radios and showing how they can help keep people in touch with the world about them. We had a very positive response from visitors to the show who immediately understood the benefits of our equipment in helping themselves or loved ones living with dementia remain independent for longer. If you know of someone living with dementia or someone caring for a dementia sufferer needing an adapted radio, introduce them to BWBF - it could mean all the difference to them!
